Luminant Exposure

I've been searching for a name to start a photography website. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with the word exposure flashing through my mind. Exposure. So simple, yet filled with depth. In film photography a picture before we were graced with the opportunity to view it was what we called an exposure. As I lay in bed wide-awake I began to build on the idea. Exposure. What IS an exposure? The definitions of exposure are quite dull really. The word exposure is synonymous with vulnerability; in terms of photography exposure deals with a record of a scene on light sensitive material.... This did not make sense, so I decided to form my own definition; an exposure is the realization that light has the ability to capture the dark that wells up inside us all, it's opportunity and experience. Exposure is all about the light heartedness that we experience when we let ourselves experience vulnerability. If a picture is worth a thousand words than an exposure is all the blind work that we did before seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and the light was, in fact, never at the end of the tunnel. Instead, it was there beside us all along just waiting to burst through our cores, filling our worlds with luminance. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but my mind is filled with so many more. I realized that a website for pictures alone would be a halfhearted attempt, thus luminantexposure. This blog is dedicated to whatever lights us up. I do not have many plans for it, but what I have decided is that I will post pictures that I have taken with a meaningful quote, a short story, a snippet of my inspiration - a piece of my experience. I will also be completely open to guest posts, confessions, feedback, ANYTHING... I'm interested how this very special exposure will develop.

America is in dire need of a directional change. Stand up and fight for that change to be in the right direction because we have the power to influence, not just our nation, but the entire world. Let’s take back the values that our country has been founded upon, don’t let them discredit the Bible any further!
